Campers being treated for Norwalk-like symptoms

Nineteen people attending a family reunion have received medical attention in hospital after they began showing symptoms of a virus similar to the Norwalk strain.Gerry Graxton of the B.C. Ambulance Service said about 100 people were attending the event at the New Westminster Royal Canadian Legion Memorial Camp on the long weekend. He said two children showing symptoms similar to the Norwalk virus arrived on Friday and, as of noon yesterday, 28 people were complaining of illness.

Vancouver-Nanaimo ferry suddenly out of service

A B.C. ferry on the Duke Point-Tsawwassen run has been removed from service for a week for unscheduled work on one of its clutches.The Queen of Alberni was pulled out of service on one of the busiest travel days of the year. The ship will be replaced by the Queen of New Westminster today and the Queen of Esquimalt after that.
