Abbotsford Police have not confirmed the identity of the accident victims, whom they described as three men and three women between the ages of 14 and 50. However, Harjinder Thind, news director for Red 93.1 FM, a Punjabi radio station in Surrey, B.C., confirmed some of the names of the deceased which he said he obtained from members of the Indo-Canadian community.

The ascendancy of Vancouver orthopedic surgeon Brian Day to the presidency of the Canadian Medical Association, although long anticipated, still gave rise last week to a predictable spate of teeth-gnashing and hair-pulling on the political left. To be fair, not all concerns about the CMA's likely agenda under his leadership are misplaced.
