Body found in high-rise, Burnaby man in custody

Burnaby Mounties are holding a man in custody after the suspicious death of a woman in a Metrotown high-rise.Police say the body of a woman was found early yesterday after police responded to a 911 call. RCMP say it appears the man and woman knew each other, and the incident is not believed to be a random act. Homicide officers are investigating.

A police dog has helped put the bite on a man suspected of holding up a cab driver with a syringe.Mounties say a driver from Chilliwack Taxi told an RCMP officer early yesterday that as he was dropping off a passenger, the man brought out an uncapped syringe and stuck it to his neck, demanding money.
